Collecting has always been more than a hobby for me—it’s been a lifelong passion. My journey began in the mid-1980s as a kid collecting baseball, football, and basketball cards. Then came Garbage Pail Kids, which quickly became my favorite. My grandmother used to take me to the local convenience store, telling me I could grab as many packs as I could hold in one hand. Being small, I couldn’t hold many—but those moments meant everything.

Back then, collecting wasn’t about values or perfect corners. It was about chasing the cards I didn’t have yet, trading with friends, and spending countless hours on the back of the school bus, where shoeboxes and rubber bands served as our “trading platforms.” Those are some of my best childhood memories.

Fast forward 30 years, and I’m still that same collector at heart. Sure, I pay more attention to card values and condition these days, but I always try to hold on to that sense of excitement and innocence we all had as kids. I was even lucky enough to marry someone who shares my love for the hobby—my wife grew up a huge fan of the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team, and one of her most treasured sets celebrates their iconic 1999 World Cup championship.

The idea for Hobby Armor came from a simple problem. I sold a card on eBay and found myself cutting up an old Amazon box just to ship it safely. I remember thinking, “There has to be a better way.” That thought turned into action, and before long, Hobby Armor was born. From the start, this wasn’t about money. It was about solving real problems for collectors like me—creating products that save time, protect cards, and make it easier to enjoy the hobby, even with the demands of everyday life.

We’re not a big corporation—we’re collectors, just like you. We rely on these products ourselves, which is why we put so much care into designing them. Our mission is simple: create premium products, offer them at fair prices, and back them with customer service that makes every collector feel valued.
